First Lake Fork Patterns, Plus More TX

We’ve had a couple of requests for Lake Fork patterns so we found some and they’re now in, over 40. Most are from the PAA’s spring team tourneys there and Media Bass events, plus some Sealy Outdoors big bass derbies.

After looking at the Fork data we’re not real sure why there’s a lot of interest – Fork’s slot makes weights in most 1-day tourneys low, and everyone knows for the big ones you have to crank deep…though that’s not necessarily the case in the 1-fish big bass derbies. Continue reading

B.A.S.S. Partners With BassGold

Just posted on the B.A.S.S. website today:

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Today B.A.S.S. announced a partnership with BassGold.com to bring BassGold’s unparalleled fishing pattern service to B.A.S.S. members.

BassGold.com is a subscription-based website which has taken 50 years of reported tournament winning pattern information and turned it into searchable data. Anglers can search more than 3,000 (and counting) winning and high-placing tournament patterns – including nearly all B.A.S.S. events from the 1960s up until now – by water body or water type, and see pattern information displayed in ways they’ve never seen it before. Details on Oldham’s Falcon Pattern

Jan. 14, 2012 wasn’t a magical day on Texas’ Lake Falcon. To hear Terry Oldham tell it, the conditions weren’t the greatest. Still, he and partner Jamie Buitron weighed 5 fish for 45.52 pounds to win the Bass Champs team tourney there.

A crazy huge weight, but was it unusual? Not for that tournament. Theirs was one of four bags over 40, and another almost 30 teams weighed more than 30. Do some simple division to get to per-fish weights and your head starts to spin.

Anyhow, while the Bass Champs website is excellent as far as regional trails go, it’s doesn’t have super-detailed pattern info. So BassGold’s Jay Kumar chased down Terry to get some more information about that awesome tournament day. Continue reading

Bass Champs 2012 In, Falcon Deets Coming

Texas’ Bass Champs team trail is one of the best regional trails in the country. It does a great job with tournaments and tournament reporting. Because it publishes tournament pattern summaries and is popular, we pay close attention to it here at BassGold.

As of today, all 2012 Bass Champs tournaments though Feb. 11 (Amistad) are uploaded, and the database also has all Bass Champs tournaments from 2006 through 2008: 2009-2011 will be in soon.

Note that Jay recently spent some time on the phone with Terry Oldham talking about Continue reading

Listen Up Central Pro-Am Fishermen!

Wow, that was some couple months!

As of this month, there’s more than 3,000 – exactly 3,143 at the time of this post – and we’re now called BassGold.com (more about the name change in a future post).

Where the heck else can you easily browse 3,000+ patterns plus see the graphs, upload your own patterns and more cool stuff?! Nowhere!

Central Pro-Am

Many of the 1,000 new patterns – all checked and edited by hardcore bassers – cover 20 Continue reading

MANY More Patterns Coming

Just a brief update in case you think we’re sitting on our tails and not updating the database of winning/placing patterns. We are and have been in the midst of a HUGE data entry/cleaning effort, but are beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Look for a massive 500 to 1,000 patterns uploaded no later than January, focusing on the MO-AR-OK region.

This is a ton of historical data and FishingGold is once again the only place you’ll be able to get it.

Once that giant slug of data is entered, we’ll be hard at inputting data from other regions of the country…so let us know what you want!

57 More Patterns, All MO and OK

FishingGold.com now has 57 more patterns in the database, bringing the totals to more than 2,050 winning and placing patterns on 200 waters.

We’ve had quite a few requests for Missouri waters, so that’s what we’re focusing on for a bit (not exclusively). This time the uploaded patterns are all from Heartland Trails Elite and Team events, and cover the following waters: Continue reading

What Tourneys/Waters Do You Want in FishingGold?

We’re about to upload (hopefully next week) 100 ABA winning patterns, bringing the total searchable patterns in FishingGold! to more than 2,000. Two thousand! Wow!

Anyhow, many of the ABA patterns are for lakes/waters that are not fished by the national, pro-level trails. Waters like… Continue reading
